Turner Process Equipment in conjunction with Amandus Kahl, have recently designed, supplied and installed a new digestate pelleting plant for a large renewable energy producer in East Anglia.
The process design and equipment supply commenced at the outlet of the client’s existing raw material dryers through to the flat store for finished pelleted product.
The pelleting plant comprises of two Amandus Kahl 37-850 flat die pellet presses rated at 2.2tonne/hour each with a counterflow cooler and pellet sieve. A BRT Hartner decompactor operates as a buffer hopper prior to the press lines. A central dust filtration and exhaust system services all machines and handling equipment.
The electrical and mechanical installation was included within the Turner Process Equipment supply and installation contract and undertaken by D B Brooks and Brookshaw Stuart respectively.
Despite unavoidable delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions, the site installation, dry commissioning, and wet commissioning have been successfully completed and the digestate pelleting plant is now in full production.
